Silk Naturals Hot Flash 24K Gold Liquid Lip Gloss Review & Swatches
Each year, Silk Naturals releases a special limited edition lip color as part of their "Colors for a Cure" collection. This year, it's a liquid lip gloss called "Hot Flash".
Hot Flash is a brownish red with gold, copper, and red sparkles.
What makes this lip gloss so special is the 24k edible gold in it. Yes, real 24k gold!
I like this one a lot. I think it's perfect for fall and the holidays. It is a bit sheer, so for best results, you might want to layer it over a lipstick or lip liner unless of course sheer is what you're going for. It had no scent and didn't feel tacky. For $11.99, you'll receive a 10 ml squeeze tube of gloss, which I like much better than the regular 4.5 ml tube with the wand applicator because it's so much easier to get the product out of the tube and apply.
This special limited edition liquid lip gloss is available through the month of October, and $2 from each purchase will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Silk Naturals Colors for a Cure 2011 Eyeshadows Review & Swatches (Part 2)
This post will feature the re-released GWP's for Silk Naturals Colors for a Cure 2011. These are Chucklehead, Duct Tape, Sari, Inspire, Blanket Fort, and Dig It. (Propinquity, also a GWP reissue, was reviewed in Part 1.)

Chucklehead is a bright shimmery turquoise. It was one of the colors I was hoping would be made permanent. I have a weakness for aqua/teal/turquoise, so I was very happy to see this one reissued.
Duct Tape is a shimmery medium silver with a little bit of blue, pink, and gold. It's surprisingly complex and interesting.
Sari is a muted plum with a tinge of blue. It's shimmery, but not too shimmery. Safe for work, but not boring.
Inspire is a creamy tan with fine and subtle light blue and purple shimmer. It makes a lovely highlighter.
Blanket Fort is a beautiful bronzey tan with a pearl finish. It seems dupe-able, but it is gorgeous and definitely worth owning.
Dig It is a shimmery medium-deep brown with silver and copper sparkles. At first, I wasn't sure about this shade (just from looking at it online), but now I understand why so many people requested this to be made permanent. I mean, just look at it.
I am so glad these colors were reissued. I am pleased with the quality of these eyeshadows. They all have a soft, smooth texture with good color payoff. My favorite shades here are Chucklehead, Duct Tape, and Sari. I'm hoping Karen would re-release Cancun and Trip someday too.

Silk Naturals Colors for a Cure 2011 Eyeshadows Review & Swatches (Part 1)
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Silk Naturals released Colors for a Cure 2011. They have 12 new (and re-released) eyeshadows and an all-new limited edition lip gloss. This post will feature Howl, Scream, Paranormal, Propinquity, Defenestrate, and Demon.

Howl is a pale lavender color with blue highlights. In the jar, it looks like an ordinary light lavender shade, but the blue highlights make this one more complex and interesting.
Scream is a medium-deep purple with beautiful aqua highlights. Oh, I love this one! It has an Eyelight finish, which I adore.
Paranormal is a navy blue with a slight pearly sheen. It applies a little sheer, so for best results, use an eyeshadow primer to intensify the color. I bet this would look awesome over MAC Imaginary Paint Pot.
Propinquity is a light-medium plummy pink with golden highlights. This is just absolutely beautiful as a one-color wash! I am sooo glad this was re-released. I will definitely repurchase this one.
Defenestrate is a shimmery medium-deep plum with golden highlights. This shade looks amaaazing! Perfect with Propinquity of course.
Demon is a matte blackened brown with lots of red sparkles. You will definitely need a glitter glue of some sort (Stick 'Em, Pixie Epoxy, Too Faced, etc.) for this one. I think I'll try this one over MAC Idyllic Paint Pot later.
During the month of October, Silk Naturals will be donating $0.25 from the sale of each jar to the Susan Komen Foundation. None of these shades are limited edition, but if you purchase this month, you'll be supporting a great cause. My personal favorites here are Propinquity, Defenestrate, and Scream.

Silk Naturals Fall 2011 Eyeshadows Review & Swatches (Part 4)
What? There's a part four? Yes, I did end up getting the rest of the new eyeshadows to swatch for you. Except Burnout. Sorry... I might get that one later.

Checkered is a bright yellow gold with a pearl finish. I wasn't expecting to like this one much, but I do.
4matic is a pearly champagne with a tinge of green. I love this one! It will definitely get a lot of use from me.
Glory is a golden taupe with green, gold, and copper sparkles. This is one beautiful shade.
Touring is a golden bronze with a pearl finish. It looks like something I already have, but this is probably better in terms of texture.
Fierce is a golden peach with a pearl finish. Holy gorgeousness! I LOVE THIS! So pretty!
Heat is a coppery orange with a pearl finish. I don't own many colors like this because it's not a shade I wear a lot, but I really like this one.
Kickstart is a shimmery silvery grey with just a hint of bronze. I normally try to stay away from silver tones, but this is very wearable for me because it has a hint of brown.
Nighthawk is a blue-black with a golden pearly sheen. Great as a liner!
And there you have it... I hope these photos and swatches help a bit. None of these eyeshadows have an Eyelight finish, but using a good eyeshadow primer might slightly intensify the colors. To be honest, when I first saw these shades online, I didn't think I needed any of them because I thought I might already have similar colors (and maybe I do), but when I received these I got really excited because they all look amazing in the jar, and I actually fell in love with most of them while swatching. My personal favorites are Fierce (of course), 4matic, and Touring.

Silk Naturals Fall 2011 Eyeshadows Review & Swatches (Part 3)
I have a few more Silk Naturals eyeshadows to show you. These are the golds and coppers from the Fall 2011 collection. Plus a gift with purchase.

From L to R: Hairpin, Spoiler, Fusion, and My Goodness (GWP).
Hairpin is a mid-tone copper bronze. It has an Eyelight finish, and it is so flippin' gorgeous!
Spoiler is a golden bronze with a tinge of green. It's shimmery, but not too shimmery. It doesn't have an Eyelight finish, but it's a beautiful shade.
Fusion is a golden gray with copper highlights. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this color when I ordered it, but when I received it, I was surprised at how amazing it actually is. It has an Eyelight finish and has a wonderful iridescent glow.
My Goodness is a shimmery pink with a hint of brown and a purple sheen. This was a gift with purchase during that week. So pretty!
I hope these photos and swatches help. The shades are not really easy to describe accurately since each color (like Hairpin and Fusion) has a highlight that changes hue depending on the light source and how the light hits it. Most of them are semi-sheer to semi-opaque with a pearlescent sheen. They can be used wet or dry, but of course using a good eyeshadow primer will intensify the colors and give you the best results. I am really impressed with these Eyelights (and even the ones that aren't, like Spoiler), and I hope to see more of this texture and finish in the future.

The shades are not easy to describe accurately, but I'm hoping these photos and swatches help a little.
