Maybelline Summer 2013 Color Sensational High Shine Lip Glosses Review & Swatches

In addition to the Summer 2013 Color Whisper Lipsticks, Maybelline also launched 6 Limited Edition Color Sensational High Shine Lip Glosses for Summer 2013.

L to R: Peach Glisten, Nude Compliment, Peony Sheen, Fuschia Sparks, Coral Heat, and Rose Lust.

L to R: Peach Glisten, Nude Compliment, Peony Sheen, Fuschia Sparks, Coral Heat, and Rose Lust.

Peach Glisten is a pale nude beige without any shimmer. I think maybe this should have been called Nude Compliment.

Nude Compliment is a warm peach with lots of shimmer. I think the name Peach Glisten would have been more suitable. Perhaps they switched the names/labels during production?

Peony Sheen is a fuchsia pink with very fine multicolored shimmer, though predominantly gold.

Fuschia Sparks is a medium cool pink with a glossy sheen.

Coral Heat is a medium peachy coral without any shimmer.

Rose Lust is a pinky red with a glossy sheen and no shimmer.

My favorites are Peony Sheen, Coral Heat, and Rose Lust, but they are all lovely and perfect for the summer. Maybelline Color Sensational (and Revlon Colorburst) are my favorite drugstore lip glosses at the moment because they are quite pigmented, very comfortable to wear, a bit moisturizing, and not too sticky. These stay on for a couple of hours on me with minimal eating and/or drinking. Like the Color Whispers, these have a sweet fruity scent. The packaging is nice, sleek, and doesn't look cheap for such an affordable product.

Have you tried any of the Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Glosses yet?

Where to buy: In your local drugstores.

Disclosure: The products featured in this review have been purchased by me. All opinions are honest and completely mine.

    1. They all look nice, although I probably would've skipped Peach Glisten and Nude Compliment if they weren't BOGO 50% off.

  2. Fuchsia Sparks is my absolute favorite. The name does not translate the perfect pink pout I get. Best lip gloss I have tried this year! (I tried them all from Baby lips to Revlon's lip butter---this is worth it)Limited editions are hard to find in nyc though.

    1. Fuchsia Sparks is such lovely shade! It looks more like a peony pink than fuchsia to me though. Maybe "Peony Sheen" would have been a more suitable name? I don't know, but it's a really nice pink gloss that I can wear all year round.
