Maybelline Painted Purple Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Here's another shade I thought I would skip. I read plenty of bad reviews on it, but I decided to try it for myself. So, here's a quick review of Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadow in Painted Purple.

Painted Purple is a sheer shimmery mid-tone purple. (Why are purples so hard to photograph?) It leans more pink-purple than blue-purple in person. The color looks more beautiful in the jar than swatched.

I love Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 Hour Eyeshadows, except this one. It has poor color payoff. It doesn't apply and blend as well as the other shades, so it ends up looking a bit patchy. I can get it to look nice, but it takes several layers to build up the color intensity, and I have to apply a powder eyeshadow over it to even it out. It does last a long time. I can wear this for about 8-10 hours with very slight creasing and fading. With a primer and a powder eyeshadow to set, it lasts about 14-16 hours on me.
