Susan of Darling Girl Cosmetics sent me a few samples of her products (free for review purposes only). I met Susan on one of the forums I frequent (Chanty's MMU Forum). She's talented, helpful, and genuinely nice (a big plus to me).
Here are a few swatches (with DG descriptions) of Covet (beautiful emerald green with gold duochrome), Electric Lady (velvety lavender with a slight silver sheen), Mojito (silky teal on the blue side with a silver shimmer and a satin pearl finish), and Oracle (deep taupe with a green cast and slightly metallic sheen). After wearing these shadows for the past few days, I can honestly say I'm really impressed. These colors are just amazing! They have a nice silky texture, easy to blend, and last pretty good with a primer. Best of all, the prices are perfect "for the frugalista in all of us"! ;)
Full Size (¾ tsp) = $4.00
Petit Size (¼ tsp) = $2.00
Sample Size (1/8 tsp) = $0.60
I also received samples of her Kiss Me Tinted Lip Balms. I chose Racey Raspberry (sweet and sexy raspberry pink) and Sassy (semi-sheer strawberry pink with subtle blue interference). Racey Raspberry is such a pretty shade. I can see some beautiful blue interference in it, which I LOVE. Sassy is a lovely color. I didn't notice any blue interference (as described on the site), but it does have a good bit of fine gorgeous gold shimmer. Click the image to enlarge it.
I've been eyeing these two colors since they came out because the swatches look so pretty, but... Boy! They are even prettier in person! Plus, the formula is soft, smooth, and moisturizing. It has a pretty good staying power, and the colors seem to stay true. So, yes, I plan on buying a full size of both colors.
I just wish you can purchase samples too because I want to try every DG lippie! That said, a full size is pretty affordable.
Full Size (5.9 ml) = $4.50
Overall, I really like everything, and I'm glad I got to try Darling Girl Cosmetics. You should too! ;)

Whoa, those are some gorgeous lip colours! And the eyeshadow colours remind me a lot of the Urban Decay Show Pony palette (I think it was that one?) :D
ReplyDeletePretty swatches! The texture of those eyeshadows looks gorgeous =o
ReplyDelete@SilhouetteScreams: I'm in love with these lippies! Now that you mentioned it, Electric Lady and Mojito do look similar to UD Flash and Painkiller (2 of my favorite UD colors). I love turquoise/teals and purples. <3
ReplyDelete@Simone: I really like the texture... so silky smooth! :)
the lip balm looks nice.
ReplyDelete@Leira: Yes, they do. I need a tube or two of these lippies. ^^
ReplyDeleteWow...Racey Raspberry is brighter and more pigmented than I thought. The website's swatch looked softer, slightly sheer and less pink. I wonder if this is a color that one can pull off this Spring. Yeah, I agree the formulas look excellent..moisturizing and well pigmented. That's really hard to come by for low price tinted mineral lip balms. Thanks for the review.
ReplyDelete@glaciajo: Racey Raspberry would be great for Spring/Summer. It can be applied sheerly or built up for a brighter and bolder color. Thanks for taking the time to comment! :)
