Wet n Wild Ferga-Vicious Eye Kit (For Your Edgy Side) Review & Swatches

The Fergie Eye Kits that originally came out last year are back again, and I have the Ferga-Vicious Eye Kit (For Your Edgy Side) to swatch and review for you today.

This kit contains an eyeshadow quad, pencil eyeliner, liquid eyeliner, mascara, and two brushes. The packaging is a little bulky, but the insert that holds all of the products can be easily lifted out, so you can reuse the box for some storage if you'd like. Inside the kit is an illustrated step-by-step guide to "Get the Look" which isn't very easy to follow. The directions can be a little confusing and does not make sense to me, but it's not a big deal as I usually disregard these how-to guides and do my own look. The eyeshadow brush feels soft, but I won't be using it because the shape is not ideal for eyeshadow application. I prefer something round and flat. The inclusion of the eyebrow brush and eyelash comb is nice though. I actually like it, and I will continue to use it.

The eyeshadow quad has your traditional smokey shades.

It has a matte light gray, a shimmery blackened plum, a medium blue-gray with golden shimmer, and a matte charcoal black. They all have decent color payoff. The light gray is a little powdery and chalky. The blackened plum can be a little sheer, but it's buildable. The blue-gray looks nice, but it suffers from fall out issues. The texture of the charcoal black is on the drier side, but it does perform better applied than merely swatched.

There is a shimmery silver eyeliner included in this kit.

This is actually better than I expected. It is very pigmented, applies smoothly without tugging, and lasts all day on me.

This kit also comes with a Wet n Wild Mega Liner in Black.

It is pretty opaque and easy to apply with a brush tip. It does take a little while to dry, but once it does, it stays put and lasts about 6-8 hours on me, which is a little surprising, considering I have oily lids. It will smudge if you accidentally rub your eyes though.

There is a small Mega Length mascara in the kit, but it had already dried out before I could even use it. I have tried this formula before, and it did not really do much for my lashes. I had a full-size, and it also dried out quickly, so I will not be repurchasing this mascara (unless it's part of a kit).

Overall, I don’t really know how I feel about this kit. I really just wanted the eyeshadow quad, but I am a little disappointed with the quality. It's not the worst, but I expected a little more from this. They were not as nice and buttery as some of the shades in their permanent Color Icon line. I do think their liquid and pencil eyeliners are great for the price ($2.99 and $1.49 respectively if purchased individually). I would’ve been just fine without the mascara and brushes because after purchasing both kits (Ferga-Vicious and Glamour-Eyes), I ended up with 2 dried-out mascaras and 2 eyeshadow brushes that I will never use.

The price says $9.99, but it scanned as $7.99 for me. I don't know if the lower price was an error or not, but I would not pay $9.99 for this kit, seeing as how I won’t use the included mascara and eyeshadow brush. I would’ve liked to see this for around $5.99 for the whole kit for it to be considered a bargain.

    1. I had high hopes because they have great products in their permanent line.
