It's been a while since I purchased an eyeshadow quad from MAC. I had actually planned to skip both quads from this collection, but I caved in and bought Rimal Dahabia because it looked like a quad I would use regularly.
From L to R: Shroom, Soft Brown, Beautyburst, and Najm el Lail...
Shroom is a light beige with a nice pearly sheen. It's not too white nor too frosty, which makes it perfect as a highlight for the brow bone and inner corner, and it works great as a lid color too. It goes on smoothly and blends well. I think it can work well with pretty much everything.
Soft Brown is a medium warm brown with a matte finish. It can be used as a lid color or a crease/transition color. It's soft, smooth, and easy to blend out. It also has good color payoff.
Beautyburst is a warm reddish brown with a satin finish. There is a little bit of fine shimmer in the pan, but it looks matte when I swatched it on my arm and applied it on the lid. This shade is soft, smooth, well pigmented, and easy to apply and blend.
Najm el Lail is a blackened brown with a matte finish. It can go on a little patchy, and you have to do a little extra blending to get a smooth look.
Overall, I think Rimal Dahabia is a pretty good quad. I wish Najm el Lail had better texture and pigmentation though, especially at this price point. For just $2 more, I could've picked up the Lorac PRO Palette instead. (I don't know why I haven't purchased that one yet!) However, I do like this quad because I can see myself using it often for a "no-brainer" everyday look.
What do you think of this quad? Haul or skip?

I love this quad but Najm el lail.. I guess it's the worst Mac eyeshadow I own U.U.. I'm happy with Rimal dahabia anyway
ReplyDeleteI really like this quad despite Najm el Lail. I know I'll be using Shroom, Soft Brown, and Beautyburst a lot, so I'm happy with my purchase.
